Nicholas, Emaleah and I all passed our belt exams. Emaleah is a White/Orange Belt, Nicholas is a Orange Belt and I am now a Yellow Belt! At the beginning of our belt exams, Master Depalma gave us all a pep talk about our achievements this far then turned us over to Mrs. Jones to make us sweat! Boy, did she make us sweat! Just as you feel like you are going to pass out, they break you into 3 groups, 1 group gets to work out more, 1 group gets to do bag work with kicks and punches, the last group performs the current form for our head instructor and Master Depalma, everyone gets there chance in each group. After 1 hour you feel like you can't kick another kick or do anymore push ups, I think I was actually praying to do crunches just so I wouldn't have to run in place anymore. Then it is the time you worked really hard for.... You get your new belt, you survived!! Mr. Jones calls your name, Master Depalma gives you your belt, you go back to your place, kneel down place your belt in front of you and when Master Depalma says so you place your hands on each side of your belt and rub the sweat off of your forehead onto your new belt (gotta rub in the knowledge).
As parents we are always proud of our children when they accomplish a new goal, but I think you find a new appreciation for their accomplishments when you do it right along side them and see for yourself how hard it can be. Nicholas and Emaleah are amazing kids and now they out rank their mom in Karate!

So What Have We Been Up To???
In the last 6 months our lives have changed dramatically!! Randy got a new job, I quit mine, and the biggest change was we pulled the kids out of school and started Home Schooling! So for the last few months I have not been that social because I am giving the kids my all! We finally got a groove with our schooling, the kids are doing great, and I haven't lost my mind!
We drive to Safford twice a week for Karate. In November we went camping at Riggs Lake that is on top of Mt. Graham. It was the last weekend that it was open before it closed for winter, it was beautiful but so cold. In December we had a nice Holiday. I have been learning how to sew, I made Emaleah an apron for Christmas, her reaction was the best gift I could get! January, wow that month came and went quick! We went to the Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson. I loved the Mineral exhibit, Emaleah loved the Hummingbird Room, they flew all around you! Nicholas just loved that the trip was school for the day!
The months are just shooting past us, it really is hard to keep up. I have lost track of most everything going on outside my home,I may not know what is going on around me, but I know what my kids are doing and that is the most important thing in my life! I apologize to everyone, your Christmas cards are still sitting on the shelf by the front door. Randy always brings the mail home so I hust have not been to the Post Office. I promise to get them out, there is a great photo of my Karate Kids in there for everyone!
I promise to try harder to keep in touch!
