I hope everyone has lots of chocolate to get them by!! Friday we went to Safford to Trick or Treat and enjoy a wonderful school carnival! The kids had so much fun. Tonight our school had a Trick or Trunk and it's Annual Fall Carnival. Randy and I had a great time decorating our trunk. Since election day is Tuesday and I am running for School Board, he carved "Vote 4 Torey", in our pumpkin.
My husband really got into Halloween this year and he looked great, he had everyone cracking up. I dug deep into my inner witch and went with it! Nicholas was a reaper and Emaleah was a bat girl. It really is a milestone when your kids costumes start to get a bit scarier and less cute.
KEOP!!
Nicholas had a Karate Party this year. He got to bring some of his friends and show them all the fun moves he gets to learn in Karate. They all received a pair of Nunchaku's. The kids really liked that part!! There were games, Randy and I really had fun with the balloon race where you couldn't use your hands or feet.
We had ordered a "Blocker", it looks like a padded bat, to give to Nicholas for his birthday, when Mr. Dixon brought it out we tricked Nicholas into thinking that it was a karate paddle for birthday spankings. It took a minute to make him realize that it was really for him to practice his kicks and punches.
Nicholas got to cut his cake with a real samurai sword with the help of Mr. Dixon. He was one bring grin while he was cutting his cake.I believe that this was his favorite party ever. All day Saturday he practiced with his Nunchaku's and his blocker. Thank you Mr, Dixon for all your hard work!!

The Snail Made me do it!!
Lately I have been doing a massive late summer cleaning on my house. I came across this notebook where I had decided to write down what my kids had been up to that week. Reading about it now, that was a busy week. It's dated June 18, 2005. They used a entire bottle of shampoo to make a slip and slide in the tub. Nicholas was mad at Em and peed in her toy box, later when he was mad at me he peed on my dryer. The next day to entertain Em he pooped in the middle of the living room floor as entertainment. (He had been potty trained over a year prior to these events!)
But overall my favorite story in my notebook was his explanation as to why he was doing all these bad things. He told me had a Bad Snail in his brain telling to do all things bad things. I can remember this conversation very clearly now, he had such a serious look on his face when he was telling me this so I bent down blew in his ear and found a crumb on the floor on the other side of his head, stomped on it and said, "There, now he can't get you into anymore trouble!

Emaleah's Room Makeover!!
As much as I hated to admit it my little girl is growing up. It was time to update her room to a "Big Girl" room. Once I got the idea in my head everything seemed to come along pretty easily. I went bright with the colors and had to stick with Emaleah's signature "Pink". I am really happy with how the room is turning out.
First Day of School!!
As a kid I always liked the first day of school, new clothes, new shoes, new backpack, I even liked brand new notebooks. You always start using the first few sheets of paper very carefully, making sure your handwriting is nice and neat. I've seen my kids notebooks, maybe that phase will hit them when the hit Junior High!
Emaleah is in 1st Grade this year, Nicholas is in 2nd Grade. They both have the same teachers as last year. They both said they had a good first day back, and made some new friends. I hope that this is a great school year for them!

We Did IT!!!!
Nicholas, Emaleah and I all passed our belt exams. Emaleah is a White/Orange Belt, Nicholas is a Orange Belt and I am now a Yellow Belt! At the beginning of our belt exams, Master Depalma gave us all a pep talk about our achievements this far then turned us over to Mrs. Jones to make us sweat! Boy, did she make us sweat! Just as you feel like you are going to pass out, they break you into 3 groups, 1 group gets to work out more, 1 group gets to do bag work with kicks and punches, the last group performs the current form for our head instructor and Master Depalma, everyone gets there chance in each group. After 1 hour you feel like you can't kick another kick or do anymore push ups, I think I was actually praying to do crunches just so I wouldn't have to run in place anymore. Then it is the time you worked really hard for.... You get your new belt, you survived!! Mr. Jones calls your name, Master Depalma gives you your belt, you go back to your place, kneel down place your belt in front of you and when Master Depalma says so you place your hands on each side of your belt and rub the sweat off of your forehead onto your new belt (gotta rub in the knowledge).
As parents we are always proud of our children when they accomplish a new goal, but I think you find a new appreciation for their accomplishments when you do it right along side them and see for yourself how hard it can be. Nicholas and Emaleah are amazing kids and now they out rank their mom in Karate!

Family Fun Day!!
The Summer has been rather dull for all of us, so we decided to have a family fun day! We went to Safford and had Pizza, then went bowling (you would think with my maiden name being Bowlin, I could bowl, yeah not so well!). The kids had fun, they may need to replace the floor on lane 9. Nicholas and I almost caused a few injuries to innocent bystanders, we both lost the grip on our balls and they went flying behind us.
After Bowling we wet to the movies to see Wall-E. It was very cute. We enjoyed our day together. We need more of those, the kids are growing up so fast.

Karate
Nicholas and Emaleah started Karate in November. They both really enjoy it! Emaleah is a Little Dragon and is now a white/yellow belt. Nicholas is a yellow belt. It has been so much fun for us to watch them learn the techniques. Emaleah really comes out of her shell during the class, she can really get loud with her Ke-Ya's! Nicholas has really improved with his coordination. I learned a big lesson... don't be fooled by how easy something looks for the sidelines. I thought.. "That doesn't look so hard!" So I joined about a month ago. I let you all know how I do in a couple of months. Right now Monday and Wednesday nights at Karate there's extra entertainment for the other parents.
Our Birth-Versary
This month Randy and I celebrated our 34th & 39th (Randy is the one who's 39 ) Birthdays and our 9th Wedding Anniversary (all in the same day!)!! I can't believe that we have been married for 9 YEARS! I am very lucky to have met my soul mate.
